Back from the field research, we understood that the physical carshare parking lot created especially by the governing body of Val d'Oise were not used based on one very important factor: their location.
We understood that carshare users were using more personalised space that would fit both driver's and passenger's needs. They would agree on a meeting point beforehand through messaging apps.
Knowing that French people love smartphone games, we created a whole new fun carsharing experience.
Thanks to the experience being fully virtual, you can create or delete carshare park as much as you want based on demand.
The “right or wrong” mini-game can be found on the map during the ride. Gamers discover the territory's history and win a local virtual currency that fuels the local economy.
The playfulness of the app encourages carsharing, reducing the solo driver’s phenomenon and road traffic. One of the new features of the app was to compare the riders' profiles and find common grounds to break the ice on the first encounter.
App prototype
You can experience Valo with this integrated feature made with Adobe XD.
Branding
Prior to the interface design, I created a dynamic and playful 80's inspired logotype. I also created a bank of illustrations to be used in the user interface.
Motion design
With the team, we decided to explain our concept through a well-thought graphic animation.
A project made with Kio-Anh Fortin and Vincent Delisle for Val d'Oise state governing body.
